Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc, a commercial real estate enterprise, and PowerMarket,
a community solar market leader, have partnered to bring some of the first community solar projects
online right here in Northern New Jersey – four projects altogether, three in Hudson county and one
in Essex county. For the first time in NJ, everyone can participate in the clean energy revolution
by joining community solar and even lowering their monthly electricity bill!
With community solar, a group of people can subscribe to individual portions of a large solar farm
built locally, so you could join a project as a subscriber even though the solar was not located on
your property or owned or managed by you.
Enjoy guaranteed savings of at least 10% on your monthly PSE&G bill. Through Sustainable Jersey City's partnership with PowerMarket and Hartz Mountain Industries, you can receive a portion of the solar energy produced as a credit on your bill.
Monitor your solar array's energy production and track your bills and savings with our online PowerMarket dashboard. If you have a question you will be able to access your documents and data.
When you sign up for a New Jersey community solar project, you will receive credits each month on your PSE&G bill. These credits will go toward offsetting the cost of your bill, allowing you to save money and contribute to a more sustainable future. It's that simple. Here are the three easy steps to make it happen.
Fill out a subscription form with basic details (name, email, etc.) and have a recent PSE&G bill handy. As you continue your registration, you’ll have to enter your PSE&G account number and energy usage information so we can determine the right amount of the solar project to allocate to your bill.
Once you’ve subscribed, you will be given access to a personal dashboard where you can see the project's solar energy production, your document library (contract, bills, etc.) and your monthly savings.
You will start seeing savings on your PSE&G bill a month or two after you subscribe to a Jersey City community solar project.
